Accreditation Process

The Master of Traditional Oriental Medicine degree program of Emperor's College of Traditional Oriental Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM), which is the recognized accrediting agency for the approval of programs preparing acupuncture and oriental medicine practitioners. Quote from the Site Visit

In March of 2001, a team of site visitors selected by ACAOM reviewed 14 different aspects of Emperor's College, from the statement of purpose to the administration, faculty, program of study and facilities. In their site visit report, they wrote:

The [site visit] team came to the conclusion that Emperor's choice of the word "brilliant" with its "connotations of light and enlightenment," accurately describes the intellectual and spiritual commitment of the institution to "shine the medicine throughout the world."

After this review and discussion before the commission in May of 2001, the commission awarded Emperor's College re-accreditation for the maximum possible period of five-years.

Emperor's is also approved by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocation Education (BPPVE) and the California State Department of Education under Education Code Section 94310. Licensing eligibility is approved by the California Acupuncture Board.
