Los Angeles Acupuncture schoolThe AOM world has lost a giant and pioneer in the field. Dr. Paul Rollington Campbell passed away peacefully at home in Santa Monica on August 24, 2017 from a heart condition.  Paul was a devoted son, husband, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many. Dr. C. mentored and cared for thousands of acupuncture students and patients during his 30 years of practice at Body Mind Systems Medical Center in Santa Monica and was an important leader in the early days of the field of acupuncture in California.

Dr. Campbell obtained his PhD from Samra University in 1987 and his national acupuncture license in 1988. He was president of the Acupuncture Political Action Committee, which became the CA Acupuncture Association, and played a key role in the passage of precedent-setting legislation in 1984 to recognize acupuncture as primary health care in California, thereby qualifying it for insurance reimbursement.  He taught at both Emperor’s College and the California Acupuncture College and served on the Board of Directors at Emperor’s College for eight years.

Paul is survived by his wife, Linda Delp; nephews and nieces in the US and Trinidad – Peter, Paul and Robert Tobitt; Paul Anthony and Christopher Harper; Linette, Dawn and Curley Williams; and by numerous cousins, great-nieces and nephews and other members of his far-flung and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents Rollington Campbell and Elsie Hill Campbell and by his sisters Cynthia, Barbara, Pat and Elaine whom he loved dearly.
